Consultant Psychiatrists Scotland Referral Scheme
We’re delighted to launch our Psychiatry Partnership Referral Scheme, designed to support the continued development of both you and your colleagues.
When you refer a Consultant Psychiatrist to Direct Medics, and they complete their first placement in Scotland with us, you’ll both receive up to £500 towards career development costs—including courses, conferences, professional memberships (such as RCPsych), or other CPD-related expenses.
This isn’t just a thank you—it’s a reflection of our commitment to your long-term professional growth and our belief in building meaningful, career-focused partnerships.

1. The DM Consultant Psychiatrist referral scheme is open to all doctors registered with Direct Medics Ltd;
2. Referrals under this colleague referral scheme are accepted from 23rd June 2025 – 31st October 2025;
3. Referrals under the colleague referral scheme will be accepted from the referring doctor only, upon confirmation that the doctor has not previously been registered with Direct Medics Ltd;
4. Referrals under the colleague referral scheme are accepted via email only, at referrals@directmedics.com; you must ensure you have your colleagues full permission to share their details with us before doing so.
5. Doctors may refer an unlimited number of colleagues to avail of the scheme however they must be eligible for consultant grade Psychiatry roles within Scotland;
6. Referral bonuses are paid to the referring doctor and the referred doctor at a rate of £500 each upon completion of 500 hours in only a Consultant Psychiatrist role in Scotland.
7. The placement must commence within 6 months of the scheme closing date 30/09/25 and the 500 hours must be worked within 1 year of the first day of the consultants first placement with Direct Medics.
8.In the event that a doctor is referred for shift work only, a bonus of £100 will be paid to the referring doctor upon completion of 100 hours of shift work, and £100 paid to the referred doctor on the proviso that the referred doctor’s first timesheet is processed by 31st March 2026;
9. Direct Medics reserves the right to amend or withdraw the scheme at any time;
10. Not to be used in conjunction with any other Referral Scheme or New Start Scheme.
