Job Description:
As such, Direct Medics are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Band 6 Safeguarding Practitioner. In this role, you work in conjunction with the Safeguarding Nurse Specialists in providing advice, support and training within the Trust with specific responsibility for safeguarding Adults and Domestic Abuse.
Part time hours, Mon-Wed, based in Chester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults and Children, including Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, PREVENT, modern slavery, and human trafficking.
- Promote ‘think family’ and ‘making safeguarding personal’ across the Trust.
- Provide specialist advice and support to staff on Safeguarding Adults, with clinical nurse specialists' support.
- Participate in MARAC meetings, representing CWP and sharing information between agencies.
- Provide feedback to CWP staff post-MARAC meetings, ensuring actions are understood and completed.
- Support Adult Safeguarding Nurse Specialists in their absence.
- Participate in local and national campaigns, collaborating with other agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to information sharing protocols.
- Identify learning needs and deliver appropriate training for CWP staff.
- Ensure health, safety, and welfare in the working environment, following CWP Health and Safety policies.
Essential Requirements
- Professional Qualification in Mental Health Nursing or Social Work
- Post-registration experience working with adults with care and support needs in a health and social care setting
- Experience of safeguarding adults practice
- Knowledge of national and local safeguarding adults legislation, statutory guidance, and policy
- Knowledge of patterns of abuse and neglect
- Knowledge around Mental Capacity Act including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Verbal and written presentation skills
- Communication skills
- Knowledge of the local and national Domestic Abuse/Safeguarding agenda
- Right to live and work in the UK
